Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said the state government was considering appointing nominated members in the town councils in the region keeping in mind the need to assist the people to develop their areas after no civil elections held in eastern Nagaland.
The Nagaland Legislative Assembly on Tuesday adopted an unanimous resolution to exempt the state from UCC. The resolution was supported by all the 60 MLAs, including BJP MLAs.
Nagaland government would move a resolution in the state assembly denouncing the Forest Conservation (Amendment) Act and the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
