The West Garo Hills district administration has cautioned the general public to be cautious around the Ganol Dam, especially those residing downstream, as the water from the dam could be released any time.
Minister in-charge PHE department, Marcuise N. Marak, on Tuesday informed that the Bulk Water Supply Scheme approved by the Centre under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) will help to address the shortage of water supply faced by Tura town.
The DDMA urged residents living in low-lying areas to stay alert and follow any evacuation instructions provided by the authorities in such situations.
