According to reports, a crucial stretch of National Highway 10 at Singtam in Sikkim is currently blocked at Shantinagar due to heavy rain and debris accumulation
By taking proactive measures to protect voter comfort and safety, the Assam government aims to uphold the democratic process and facilitate high voter turnout on May 7.
This comes after heavy rains lashed North Sikkim on Thursday night, which resulted to overflow of nearby rivers leading to the flash flood that engulfed the highway.
Also, widespread rains and thunderstorms are possible over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka & Goa.
