Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has announced a comprehensive inquiry into the explosion at an illegal coal mine in East Jaintia Hills, where 16 bodies have been recovered so far.
The Justice BP Katakey Committee has directed the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills, to identify vulnerable areas and increase patrolling to curb illegal coal mining.
