The tourists who were stranded  in Sikkim's Lachen shared their experience after Indian Army helped them and brought them back to safer place.

Indian Army launches massive rescue mission in North Sikkim, airlifts over 200 civilians

Speaking to media persons, Sikkim police DIG Tashi Wnngyal said, "Today, the weather was good and we have rescued 430 people and helped them to come down to safe place. More than 200 people were airlifted and more will be done if weather permits."

At least 50 people have died and 142 persons remain missing in the devastating flash floods in Sikkim, which was triggered by glacial burst on the South Lhonak lake on Wednesday morning.

Altogether, 23 soldiers of Indian Army had gone missing due to the flash floods. With the rescue of one soldier, the operation to locate and rescue other 22 soldiers is underway.
