Deputy Chief Minister in charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar on Tuesday informed that the department is in the process of identifying places to rehabilitate hawkers from Khyndailad area.
Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Tuesday attended the strawberry festival held at Khyndailad located at the heart of the city and said that the taste of strawberry grown in Meghalaya is of ‘world class’.
The exercise is necessary to make Khyndailad as a ‘pedestrian zone’ and as a ‘music hub’ – to welcome tourists and visitors to Shillong, also known as the music capital of India.
