Two women from Barato village in Meghalaya’s West Jaintia Hills district, were rescued by the Khasi Students’ Union Delhi Unit over the weekend after they were allegedly lured to the national capital with false promises of hotel jobs and later pressured into prostitution.
The Khasi Students’ Union Delhi Unit and the Special Police Unit for North‑East Region (SPUNER) have rescued two Khasi girls — aged 15 and 18, both from East Jaintia Hills — who had been lured to Delhi with promises of domestic work and then taken to a spa in Haryana where they were pressured into prostitution.
