The statement read, "We are deeply concerned about the continuing ethnic violence in Manipur between the Meitei community and the tribal Kuki and Zo communities. We demand an immediate halt to this violence that is causing large scale disruption of lives, livelihoods and properties and unleashing even more terror among people".
According to reports, the incident is said to have occurred at around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night, after a huge mob of miscreants stormed R K Ranjan Singh's residential gate.
While speaking to reporters in Imphal, CM N.Biren Singh said, "As part of these operations, six improvised explosive devices (IEDs) have been recovered. We assured the public that strong action would be taken against the terrorists responsible for the brutal killings in Khamenlok area,"
The Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Thursday asked the state government to keep proper record on the refugees, who have come to the state in view of the Manipur situation.
The reports of fresh violence in the state comes as a major setback for the people of the state and government amid efforts to restore peace in the state.
