The Kyiem Travelers’ Nest is a project funded by the Meghalaya Age Limited (MAL) through the Meghalaya Rural Tourism Cooperative Federation Ltd., with an investment of Rs. 94 lakhs.
He told the gathering that different issues of the indigenous people of the North East have always been a concern to him, and shared that different political parties or different organizations or forums have the same goal when it comes to the indigenous people.
Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Friday distributed 1010 appointment certificates to the new recruits comprising of various ranks of Meghalaya Police.
In the address, CM Conrad Sangma also called upon the student community to be active contributors in the progress of the state and use science, technology and innovation to make positive impact in our communities.
He said the state have been engaged in this form of mining for last 200 years and livelihood is based around that and unless and until alternate forms of livelihood don’t come up people will keep going back to those activities.
This deliberation comes at a time when the Sate Government plans to launch the Chief Minister’s Solar Mission in July at an estimate cost of Rs 100 crores.
