Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma on Monday accused the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government for ‘crippling’ the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) in the state.
National People’s Party (NPP) national chief and chief minister, Conrad K Sangma, has expressed that the recent merging of three Congress legislators with the ruling NPP is a clear message of confidence in the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government and the leadership.
The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Wednesday urged the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government to resume the second phase of border talks with its Assam counterpart for resolving the six remaining areas of difference shared between the two states.
Cabinet Minister and MDA spokesperson Paul Lyngdoh urged for calm, stating that the government, opposition, and NGOs must work together to unlock Meghalaya's potential as a cultural and musical powerhouse.
The chief minister said the exercise is important because the government is concerned about the overall education system. The decision was also taken after conducting a thorough research and consultation with different stakeholders at different levels in the education system.
