The 30th Inter School and 12th Inter College Karate Tournament, organised by the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association, began at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) campus at NEHU here on Thursday.

The Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Jagdish Chelani, led a crucial meeting alongside John F. Kharsing, President of MSOA, and various stakeholders to discuss the preparedness for the 2024 Meghalaya Games to be hosted in Tura for the first time. The meeting involved 15 committees, covering aspects such as finance, ceremonies, accreditation, accommodation, catering, and media, all working collaboratively to ensure the success of the upcoming games.

During the meeting, the GTCC also reviewed the schedule including the contingent details, the FOP details, appointments of Chef de Mission and Dy Chef De Mission, Transport movement details and several other preparations.

The Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA), in collaboration with Anastha Fitness Centre, organized an enlightening interaction session on Friday with two accomplished Australian athletes, Robert Kabbas and Ian Campbell.
