To help the people who have displaced from their homes and villages due to ethnic violence since May 3, the Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Tuesday launched the 'Onetime Financial Assistance (OFA) of Rs 1,000 per head.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Singh said the Home Minister has advised to strengthen the work towards achieving everlasting peace and also sought the cooperation of every stakeholder in Manipur to ensure that peace prevails in the state.
Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Friday visited Kwakta areas in Bishnupur district and took stock of the temporary houses where violence-hit people are taking shelter.
Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Manipur Police (Commando) recovered Mortar HE Bomb from General Area Mongjam Foothills, Imphal East.
The Assam Rifiles said that they recovered X 51MM Mortar HE Bomb in the state.
