The NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC) on Friday will stage protest rally against rescheduling the date of counting of votes of November 7 election to the Mizoram assembly.

A five-member delegation of the NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC) on Tuesday met the Election Commission in New Delhi and demanded that the poll panel move the date of counting of votes from Sunday, December 3.

A six-member delegation of NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC), an umbrella body of influential civil society and students' organisations, would meet the Election Commission on Tuesday.

In a major development, the influential Mizoram’s NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC) has decided to send a delegation to Delhi to once again urge the Election Commission of India (ECI) to reschedule the state assembly election vote counting date of December 3 as Sundays are sacred for Christians and services are held in all towns and villages on that day.
