The expedition is planned to be completed in the month of September. It also serves as a means for the Indian Army to train its military personnel to handle diverse challenges with precision and skill.
According to reports, the landslide occurred on Wedneday morning at around 8:30 am, following heavy rainfall triggering a landslide at Upper Lingzya under Sakyong Pentong Gram Panchayat unit.
This comes after heavy rains lashed North Sikkim on Thursday night, which resulted to overflow of nearby rivers leading to the flash flood that engulfed the highway.
