The Jaintia Students' Union (JSU) has strongly condemned the recent incident in which certain Karbi individuals allegedly trespassed and disrupted the peaceful paddy harvesting at a site belonging to Pnar residents of Lapangap village in West Jaintia Hills district.
Activists of KSU went and closed down such banks and offices located in the different parts of Shillong for disrespecting the important festival of the indigenous people.
This pivotal assembly signifies a promising step towards achieving harmonious resolutions among the communities that inhabit the border territories of West Karbi Anglong, Assam, as well as the border regions of West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya.
This was conveyed during a meeting held at Holy Cross Secondary School in Umkiang, East Jaintia Hills District, to address issues concerning the Meghalaya-Assam border, specifically the 12-Ratacheera sector.
