Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday visited the fire incident site in Police Bazar. CM called the incident as tragic and very unfortunate incident and accident that took place. Conrad expressed his sympathy and concerns to families who have been affected by the fire incident.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma visited Amit Singhania’s building at Police Bazar Shillong, which was completely burnt down in a massive fire that broke out on Saturday.
The major fire in Police Bazar, which started at around 1.20 PM on Saturday afternoon, continues to rage on even after 8 hours. One person has died due to the suffocation and one person still remains missing.
As dreamy and befitting the evening transformed into at Khyndailad, Police Bazar, the commercial hub and heart of Shillong, the launch of the season was equally exciting as it also marks the beginning of a long winter filled with exciting line up of festivals across the state.
Building on the resounding success of its inaugural season in 2022, the Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project (MGMP) was conceived by the Government of Meghalaya with the vision of nurturing and promoting local musicians, songwriters, composers, event firms, and technical vendors.
