The war of words between Congress and leaders of BJP finally came to an end on Friday after Supreme Court stayed Rahul Gandhi's conviction in the criminal defamation case over his statement on 'Modi Surname' remark that he had made during the 2019 elections.
Meghalaya Congress legislature party (CLP) leader Ronnie V Lyngdoh on Saturday hailed the order of the Supreme Court, which stayed the conviction of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the ‘Modi surname’ case.
This disqualification came after the Gujarat High Court declined to stay his conviction in a 2019 defamation case related to his “Modi surname” remarks.
