Congress chief Vincent H Pala has said he won't blame the state government for the recent coal mine explosion at Mynsngat-Thangsko, which killed over 30 workers and injured several others.

The West Jaintia Hills District Administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), effectively banning rat-hole coal mining and tightening restrictions on coal transportation across the district.
Executive Magistrate Pronamika Konwar, who oversaw the operation, vowed to persist until all illegal mines in the region were sealed. “We will not stop until every single rat hole mine is destroyed,” she stated.
