Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday reviewed all important projects implemented by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in the state.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that they have seen the bad condition, hence, they have made immediate arrangements to ensure that the repair of the phase four or the fourth sector, which is more closer towards Dawki, should start immediately.
In a devastating incident on Sunday evening, three people lost their lives and two others sustained injuries when a truck carrying cattle plunged into a deep gorge near Lad Mawkhap on the Shillong-Dawki National Highway 40.
The order said the status report filed by the State through the Joint Secretary in-charge Public Works (R&B) Department had stated that the technical evaluation of bids is under process and the work for the first package has not yet been allotted after the previous contractor abandoned the project.
