ANTF South Garo Hills, Baghmara, conducted a joint operation with 43 BN BSF and seized 1.985 kg of suspected marijuana (ganja) concealed under one white and blue-coloured plastic bag.

The BSF personnel has been identified as Head Constable Vijay Kumar of 181 Bn of BSF.

The dead body was identified as Lendrithbirth Ch Marak, a 39-year-old resident of Nengkong village near Siju, approximately 20 kilometres away from the district headquarters of South Garo Hills.

In yet another heart-wrenching incident, a drowning case has been reported in Garo Hills. The unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday morning when Walchang K Sangma, a 34-year-old resident of Rambilgitim Village in Mahadeo, South Garo Hills tragically lost his life while attempting to cross the Mahadeo River on a bamboo raft.
