Tura, June 29: In yet another heart-wrenching incident, a drowning case has been reported in Garo Hills. The unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday morning when Walchang K Sangma, a 34-year-old resident of Rambilgitim Village in Mahadeo, South Garo Hills tragically lost his life while attempting to cross the Mahadeo River on a bamboo raft.
The incident took place around 11 AM, as Walchang K Sangma embarked on the river-crossing endeavour. However, he was unable to navigate a swelled Mahadeo River with powerful current due to the recent rains, leading to drowning, leaving the local community shocked and grieving.
