In view of frequent disruption of road communication between Barak Valley and the rest of Assam, Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Sushmita Dev has urged the Central government to consider establishing an alternative route for the East West Corridor from Silchar to Haflong, which could potentially mitigate the impact of such disruptions and ensure better connectivity for the region.

TMC leader Sushmita Dev on Wednesday said that Congress is in a confused state and the election cannot be fought in confusion.

Dev, who joined the TMC in 2021, is among the four candidates announced by the party on Sunday.

Dev said that people of all communities are annoyed with the Central and state government as the governments have totally failed to control the situation despite 60,000 Central forces deployed in the state.
