Commercial LPG allocations for all states including Meghalaya have been increased to 70% of normal quota, Director of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Saloni Verma said on Monday, adding that domestic supply has remained steady despite queues at distributors.
Amidst criticism of excessive spendings on festivals, the Meghalaya government on Thursday clarified that such expenditures are not wasteful but a strategic investment in the state’s rapidly growing tourism industry.
