Thailand to welcome Indian tourists with Visa-Free entry from Nov 10

Shillong, November 01: Thailand will now allow visa-free entry for tourists from India and Taiwan for a period of six months, starting from November 10 to May 10, 2024.

This move comes with the objective of drawing in more tourists ahead of the tourism season, according to a Thai government official.

According to Thai government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke, those arriving from India and Taiwan can enter Thailand for 30 days.

He added that the authorities hoped that the scheme would attract 1.4 million extra tourists, generating an additional 55 billion baht or $1.5 billion in revenue.

This year, in September, Thailand waived tourist visa requirements for Chinese nationals.

In 2019, China was Thailand’s top pre-pandemic tourism market, with 11 million of the record 39 million arrivals.
