Thomas Jones Synod College celebrates its silver jubilee with traditional attire competition

Jowai, Aug 4: As part of its silver jubilee celebration, the Thomas Jones Synod College, Jowai organised an Inter-College Traditional Attire Competition which saw the participation of students from various Colleges from Jaintia Hills which included JaiƱtia Eastern College, Khliehriat; Amwi College, Mihmyntdu; Riwar College, Amlarem; Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai; Thomas Jones Synod College, Jowai; Ummulong Presbyterian College and St.Anthony’s Extension; Byndihati.

During the competition, Kiang Nangbah Govt College was adjudged the winner, which was represented by Trebokmi Talang and Sophia Laloo.

The St.Anthony’s Extention Byndihati was Second and represented by Mudang Dree and Puri Jusmi.

A traditional dancing and singing comperition was also organised for the various departments of the Thomas Jones Synod College.

During the competition, a short gathering was organised which was presided by M.Tyngkan, a speech was delivered by the College’s Principal Dr. D.G. Lyngdoh, while the Deputy CEM of JHADC, Lasky Rymbai was the Chief Guest.
