Imphal, Oct 27: Security forces apprehended three suspected militants and seized a large cache of weapons during an operation along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur.
Reports indicate that two suspected People’s Liberation Army (PLA) militants, Ningombam Priyo Singh and Saikhom Devjit Singh, both 21, were captured on October 26 in the Tengnoupal district.
This arrest came just a day after security forces detained Robert Lalhahdam, a suspected PREPAK (PRO) cadre, in Yanghoubung village. An INSAS Excalibur rifle was recovered from his possession.
Additionally, during a search operation in the Churachandpur district, security forces discovered a hidden arsenal in the forested areas near Teijang village at the foothills of Thangjing ridge.
Security forces have since launched a large-scale manhunt to capture militants attempting to disrupt peace in the region.
