Tura, July 23: To ensure that plastic waste management is done in an efficient manner the Tura Municipal Board along with the District Administration has started door to door collection of garbage in 5 localities of Tura in West Garo Hills.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tambe explained that the reason for this initiative is to see that garbage is not scattered wantonly and also realizing the fact that open garbage bins are prone to rodents, scavengers and cows.
The door to door garbage collection initiative will ensure that waste disposal is done efficiently and effectively and no waste gets washed or dumped in water bodies that then go to river and then ultimately lead to the same ending in the oceans.
