Agartala, Dec 18: Three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from Agartala on Wednesday for illegally entering Indian territory without valid documents.
Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala Police Station, Inspector Rana Chatterjee, said the arrests were made jointly by the BSF, with the local police and other agencies.
The accused have been identified as Bablu, Daud Seikh and Munna Mia, whose purpose of entry is under investigation.
Police have registered a case against them under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act and other provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
All three were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of West Tripura district, and two of them have been remanded to police custody for further interrogation to find their motive of entering India.
