Midnight Blaze Reduces Three Shops to Ashes in Boko

Must read

Boko, June 24: A major fire broke out late Tuesday night at Dakuwapara in Assam’s Boko town, destroying three temporary roadside shops and triggering panic among residents.

The blaze erupted in front of Kalyani Hospital and quickly engulfed the structures before firefighters could reach the spot. Local residents suspect a cooking gas cylinder explosion may have triggered the fire, although the exact cause is yet to be officially established.
The shops belonged to Dulal Das and two other traders, all of whom suffered heavy losses as the fire reduced their establishments to ashes.

Personnel from the Boko Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the area and battled the flames for several hours before bringing the situation under control. No casualties were reported.

The incident has once again raised concerns over fire safety in temporary market structures, where closely packed shops and the use of LPG cylinders often increase the risk of rapid fire spread. Authorities are expected to conduct an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
