Tripura: First ever SCADA groundwater treatment plant inaugurated in Agartala

Agartala, Dec 6: To provide clean drinking water to every household in Tripura, chief minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday inaugurated the state’s first ever Superiority Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) groundwater treatment plant at Ushabazar in Agartala.

While inaugurating the project on Tuesday, Saha, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that the government is fully committed to enhancing basic facilities for people, including provisions for pure drinking water, especially in rural areas.

A total of 16,224 families would be provided drinking water through pipeline connections in the next two years under the AMRIT-2 scheme. The rest of the families will be brought under the ADB project, which costs around Rs 600 crore.

The plant, with a capacity of eight million litres per day, was built at a cost of Rs 78 crore.

The plant has a smart water quality metre and remote control facilities to ensure the purity of the water.
