Tura, Dec 6: The Garo Students’ Union Eastern Zone, based in Williamnagar, has taken a proactive stance in addressing the prolonged delay in the release of scholarships.

The Union formally submitted a letter to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya on December 5, drawing attention to the pressing issue that directly impacts the academic pursuits of numerous students within the region.

The communication channel employed for this crucial matter involved forwarding the letter through the Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills, ensuring an official and documented transmission to the appropriate authorities. The Garo Students’ Union emphasises the urgency of resolving the scholarship delay to alleviate the financial burden on students relying on these funds for their education.

In the event that the scholarship disbursement faces further delays, the Garo Students’ Union asserts its readiness to undertake democratic steps aimed at safeguarding the welfare of the student community. The Union remains committed to advocating for the rights and interests of students and seeks a prompt and positive response from the concerned authorities.
