Shillong, Dec 5: 6 Officers and 9 personnel of Meghalaya Civil Defence & Home Guards Organization were awarded Commendation Disc and Certificate from the Director General Civil Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi on the eve of the 61st Raising Day of Civil Defence and Home Guards.

M K Sangma, Joint Director of Civil Defence, Meghalaya, RP Khongwar, Joint Commandant General of Home Guards, Meghalaya, B Mukhim, Senior Staff Officer, Directorate of Civil Defence & Home Guards, Meghalaya, and B Kharkongor, Commandant, Central Training Institute, CD & HG were awarded the Gold Disc by DGCD, MHA, New Delhi.

PH Shylla, Divisional Commandant of Home Guards, Shillong and G Kharumnuid, Junior Staff Officer, Directorate of Civil Defence & Home Guards, Meghalaya were awarded the Silver Disc by DGCD, MHA, New Delhi.

Nine other personnel including ministerial and uniformed personnel were awarded the Bronze Disc by DGCD, MHA, New Delhi.

Altogether 225 Commendation Discs & Certificates were awarded by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on the eve of the 61st Raising Day of Civil Defence and Home Guards.
