Agartala, Feb 12: Minister Sushanta Chaudhary on Monday evening said that the Tripura government has decided to maintain status quo in the existing arrangement for Kokborok subject.
The decision of the government assumes significance as Tripura Board of Secondary Education will allow the children to write Kokborok subject either in Bengali or Roman script.
Chaudhary’s announcement comes amidst ongoing strikes by students affiliated with the Opposition TIPRA Motha, urging them to end the disruption in the state.
This decision maintains a 17-year-old practice of providing script options for Kokborok subject exams under the TBSE.
