Guwahati, July 11: Tripura has secured investment commitments worth over ₹10,000 crore in the technology and allied sectors after signing 43 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), including landmark partnerships with Google India and Salesforce, at the two-day Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026.

The conclave, which concluded on Friday, also saw the signing of 11 Expressions of Interest, with companies expressing interest in investing across information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, healthcare, green energy, manufacturing, tourism and infrastructure.

The MoUs with Google India will focus on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure and technology ecosystem development, while the agreement with Salesforce aims to support AI-enabled citizen services, customer relationship management (CRM) solutions and digital governance platforms. Preliminary discussions were also held with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

Chief Minister Manik Saha, inaugurating the conclave, said the overwhelming participation of more than 1,000 delegates, double the expected turnout, reflected growing investor confidence in Tripura.

“Tripura is one of the fastest-growing states in the country. We have doubled our GSDP in just six years and significantly strengthened highways, digital connectivity, waterways and banking infrastructure,” he said.

Addressing the conclave virtually, Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia described Tripura as one of Northeast India’s most promising investment destinations and said Agartala was emerging as a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia under the Act East Policy.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, who also addressed the event virtually, said Tripura’s strategic location, improved connectivity and digital infrastructure gave it a competitive edge for industries looking to expand into Bangladesh and Southeast Asian markets.

Information Technology Director Jeya Ragul Geshan B said the state’s IT policies were already yielding results, citing Airtel’s ₹200-crore investment in a data centre at Agartala, alongside a startup ecosystem comprising 134 registered startups, 59 recognised companies and over ₹2.7 crore disbursed as fiscal assistance.

Besides Google and Salesforce, the state signed agreements with Da’Spatio Rhobotique Laboratory Pvt Ltd, Bodhi Tree Multimedia Ltd, Elvania Energies 369 Pvt Ltd and Indigi Consulting and Solutions Pvt Ltd.

A major attraction at the conclave was the Directorate of Information Technology’s pavilion, which showcased Tripura’s upcoming IT Park, the proposed Tripura IT & Data Ecosystem Zone (TIDEZ), Airtel’s Nxtra Data Centre, and policy initiatives covering AI, data centres, cybersecurity, electronics manufacturing, animation, gaming and global capability centres.

Officials said the investment commitments mark a significant step in Tripura’s efforts to position itself as a technology and innovation hub in the Northeast, with the state banking on digital infrastructure and investor-friendly policies to drive future economic growth.
