Tura accident case: Even after four days, dumper driver yet to be arrested

Tura, Apr 24: Four days after a road accident critically injured two minor girls in Ballongre, Tura, the dumper truck driver is still at large.

The West Garo Hills police have already searched his residence in Goalpara, and a case of negligent driving has been lodged against him.

The owner of the truck has surrendered himself before the police.

On Sunday, one of the minors underwent surgery, resulting in the amputation of her right leg.

The dumper, bearing registration number ML 08H 8587, is owned by Moni Bhowmik from Tura.

Speaking to Hub News, the owner stated, “The driver fled from the accident scene and went directly to the place where he was supposed to dump the mud. He left the vehicle there. I surrendered the vehicle to the police and provided all the details they requested. I have also lodged an FIR against him.”

The driver, identified as Hajidul Haque, resides in Goalpara, Assam.
