Tura, April 22: A young Master Arian Tengkam M.Sangma who is only 9 years old has died in tragic circumstances after he fell into the Kombe stream and was carried away by the powerful waters today morning.
Arian Tengkam was the son of Suhesh A.Sangma and resided in Srop gittim locality of Tura.
He was coming back from Sonanpara L.P school and as he was crossing Kombe Stream he slipped and fell and drowned. The deceased body was located near Sonanpara Bridge by the locals at about 9:30 AM, and the body have been removed to Tura Civil Hospital.
Arian Tengkam’s death is the 7th case of drowning in Garo Hills this week. On Easter monday five people drowned in Simsang, Ganol and other rivers, and a 3 year old child drowned in a fish pond in Dalu.
