Tura court gives police 8 days custody of Bernard

TURA, JULY 28: Arrested BJP MDC of Tura and state vice president Bernard N Marak, has been sent for 8 days police custody in Tura by the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Thursday after he was brought back from Uttar Pradesh by police while attempting to flee from the region.

Bernard alias Rimpu was picked up from Hapur city of Uttar Pradesh, just 60 kms from Delhi on Monday after a lookout notice led to his arrest.

He was caught travelling in a taxi when caught. In the meantime, a joint inspection and search of his farmhouse on Thursday by police and Child safety officers led to the unearthing of several crossbows with arrows and a large number of gelatin sticks used in bomb making.
