Tura, June 23: The Conglomeration of NGOs comprisisng of FKJGP, AYWO,ADE and FAF on Friday met Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tura Municipality Board regarding the issue which has been highlighted in the electronic and print media whereby one of the employee, working as a supervisor identified as Stemson Sangma has been accused of collecting taxes illegaly from various vendors and traders from Tura super market area. The NGOs also said that they have submitted a written complaint seeking an enquiry on this matter.
Meanwhile, the CEO has said that an enquiry committee has been set and they are looking into this matter.
The NGOs are also hoping that the outcome will be positive.
This comes days after videos has surface online whereby traders and vendors opened up on this act by the supervisor claiming that they have been being forced to pay taxes and if they fail to do so their trading licence will be cancelled.
