Two Covid deaths in Garo Hills, 5 in Khasi-Jaintia region

Tura, July 16: Tragedy continues to fall in Garo Hills due to the Covid-19 pandemic with more patients of the illness losing their lives.

In Tura, two women admitted to the Covid ward at Tura civil hospital died on Friday.
One of the victims was 47-years-old belonging to Spring Hills in Tura and the other was 45-years-old who came from Balsrigittim in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills district headquarters.
The victim from Williamnagar was admitted to the hospital with complications five days ago, but, sadly passed away at around 6:30 AM Friday.

The second woman from Tura was admitted one day before but died from co-morbid complications. According to health officials, she was not vaccinated for Covid.

In Khasi-Jaintia Hills, the victims who died from the disease include a 4-year-old boy in Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills; 38-year-old woman in Khjliehriat, East Jaintia Hills; 48-year-old woman from Mawlai, Shillong; 70-year-old man from Mawlai, Shillong; and 66-year-old man from Jail Road, Shillong.
