Guwahati, Aug 21: A young man was fatally struck by the Kamrup Express near Kasaripathar village, between Borhat and Boruanagar in Assam’s Charaideo district, on Wednesday night.

Railway staff discovered the body on the tracks and immediately informed the Railway Police. A team from Bhojo Railway Police later recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

The youth remains unidentified at the time of reporting. Authorities have preserved the body at the Charaideo District Hospital morgue for 72 hours in the hope that family members may come forward for identification.
