Ampati, Dec 6: As part of the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in South West Garo Hills, a massive district level programme with various activities and events, was held at Boldamgre, around 12 kilometers from Ampati, on Wednesday.
Organized by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), the Yatra is aimed at informing and empowering citizens about the Central Government’s flagship schemes and programmes. The goal of the Yatra is to raise awareness and facilitate the delivery of welfare schemes to the target beneficiaries. It is a part of the Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat campaign, focusing on reaching the vulnerable population, disseminating information, learning from citizens and enrolling potential beneficiaries. The outreach programme held at Boldamgre U. P. School playground included on spot services by various line departments like Adhar enrollment, MHIS Card registration, registration for PMMYY, non-communicable diseases (T.B, Anaemia etc) screening, SBI customer point facilities, credit linkage and insurance enrollment drive etc among others.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Mahendraganj MLA Sanjay A Sangma urged the gathering to make full use of the opportunities provided through the outreach programmes under Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and strive to know about all the central and state government schemes being provided to the people. He congratulated the beneficiaries and best performers under various flagship programmes who were felicitated during the outreach and stated that they were a testament of hard work.
Earlier South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner R.P. Marak said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a good initiative as most people in the rural areas are not aware of the various welfare schemes meant for their benefit. Informing that Agriculture is the Nodal department, he said that the outreach programmes are being conducted in the target villages in all the four blocks of the district to ensure that all the unreached target beneficiaries are covered by all the schemes which are meant for them. He also stressed the importance of Aadhar seeding of all beneficiaries for availing full benefit of welfare schemes.
Earlier, the ADC & PD, DRDA, R.Z.D. Shira, who is also the District Nodal Officer for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, highlighted on the objectives of the programme as well as the activities and outreach programmes being conducted in the district since the past few days and appealed to all the line departments to continue with their efforts to converge and interface with the people till the target to cover all deserving beneficiaries are met. Later, he administered the “Hamara Viksit Sankalp Bharat Yatra” pledge to the gathering.
Among others who spoke at the occasion was Zikzak BDO D. Hajong.
During the event, best performers under NRLM, an athlete under District Sports Office, Anganwadi workers under ICDS and beneficiaries were felicitated, while some of the beneficiaries shared their personal experiences of availing certain schemes and benefits in “Meri Kahaani Meri Zubaani” part of the program.
Post programme activities included video display in Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Van and on spot service & beneficiaries camps by line departments.
