Tura, Oct 12: The West Garo Hills Administration conducted a mock drill simulating an earthquake of 8.5 magnitude in Tura on Thursday morning.
Fire and emergency services, police department, medical department, and all the essential departments were part of the drill.
The Control room was set in the DDMA Office where all the essential department heads were stationed and the operation was led by Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Chelani.
There were many locations chosen for the drill in the town, including the DC Office in Tura, Tura Super Market, Maternity and Child Hospital, Tura Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School and Gonga Damal locality.
A temporary field hospital was set up at Tura Circuit House and Govt. College for the drill.
