Tura, Oct 18: Children as young as 8 years of age actively and enthusiastically took part in a daylong cleaning drive of the neighbourhood of their school, which was set up barely two years ago, showcasing the importance of community cleaning and environmental awareness.
These young children, in the ages of 8 to 12 years, from classes 3 to 6, belonging to the Learning Sanctuary, took part in the cleaning of the Balading area of Tura, on Wednesday ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja holidays.
The school, which has been created by former headmaster of Sherwood School Tyrone D’Brass, lays emphasis on environmental protection and love for nature to coexist with humanity.
“We have only one Planet- Our Home, and we cannot destroy it. We need to protect it for our future generations,” says Learning Sanctuary Headmaster and owner Tyrone D’Brass.
The cleaning drive was imbued with a powerful message: “Be the change if you wish to see a change in the world.”
The initiative witnessed active participation from students, who engaged in a concerted clean-up operation within the Balading locality. Their enthusiasm was palpable throughout the event, and their collective efforts had a tangible positive impact on the area.
