15-member squad chosen by Meghalaya for U-23 men’s Col CK Nayudu Trophy

Shillong, Sept 24: The senior men’s selection committee of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) has chosen 15 players as well as five standbys for the first three matches of the U-23 men’s Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2024-25.

The tournament is in a multi-day format and Meghalaya will play their first fixture against Punjab from October 13 to 16. The team will face Andhra Pradesh (October 20-23) and Himachal Pradesh (October 27-30) after that.

Meghalaya were promoted to elite level after finishing second in the Plate Group to Nagaland in 2023-24. Meghalaya had won all six matches on their way to the title match but could not beat hosts Nagaland in the final.

This season the Meghalaya boys will have much bigger opponents to face and they will surely learn a lot by playing against these top teams.

Meghalaya players are undergoing a preparatory camp in Bengaluru from where they will leave for the tournament on October 10.

Meghalaya squad for the first three matches: Kevin S Christopher, Manish Sharma, Aman Kumar, Avinash Rai, Abhishek Kumar, Gulgul Sangma, Gavineal J Marpna, Bipin Kr Ray, Josiah Momin, Joydeepan Deb, Navin Kumar, Purav Agarwal, PM Santhosh, Sachin Kumar, Swastic Chettri.

Standbys: Thunun Marak, Kush Agarwal, Rohit Kr Yadav, Bharat Gurung, Raghav Magotra.

Support staff: Neetesh Sharma (Head Coach), Synrapsing Riahtam (Assistant Coach), Emidao Dhar (Physio), Skhembor Khongbtep (Trainer), Chuba R Marak (Manager).
