Must read

Shillong, October 13: A 17-year-old girl identified as Sebenia Mawlong, a resident of Mawlai Nongkwar Block 6, has been reported missing since Sunday afternoon.

According to her mother, Sebenia had asked for permission to go out with a friend, but she was told to seek her father’s approval first. Despite this, she left home without informing anyone and did not return throughout the night.

Growing increasingly worried, the family filed an FIR at Mawlai Police Station this morning.

The mother informed that Sebenia does not own a mobile phone and the family has no knowledge of the friend she mentioned before leaving.

Police have launched an investigation into the disappearance, while the family has made an urgent appeal to the public to come forward with any information about her whereabouts.

It maybe mentioned, four cases of missing minors have been reported in Shillong within a month.

The first case involved 4-year-old Insaphira Lyngdoh Nonglait, who went missing from Nongrah. Shortly after, 7-year-old Kyrshanbor Kharmudai, also from Nongrah, disappeared and was later found dead.

Just yesterday, a 14-year-old girl from Umpling was reported missing, prompting an urgent police search. Fortunately, she was traced and found safe the same day.
