2nd NTPC National Ranking Archery Tournament 2023 kicks off with stunning performances by junior archers

Shillong, March 24: The 2nd NTPC National Ranking Archery Tournament 2023 got off to a spectacular opening ceremony on March 20, 2023 at the SAI Training Centre, NEHU.

The competition is being held by the Archery Association of Meghalaya, under the aegis of the Archery Association of India, from March 19 – 28.

Throughout the tournament, some of the best archers in the country have gathered to compete in categories of Recurve and Compound for Junior men and women. These talented young archers demonstrated remarkable precision, technique, and sportsmanship that left spectators in awe.

In the Junior Recurve category (Men), Devraj Mohapatra showed an outstanding performance, claiming the first position with a total score of 623. Meanwhile, Rampal Choudhary of Rajasthan and Dhruv Bagga of Delhi were in a tie with a total score of 613 each.

Not to be outdone, the Junior Compound category (Men) saw some impressive performances as well. Chirag Vidyarthi of Madhya Pradesh was leading with a total score of 700, followed by Abhi Khatri of Delhi with a total score of 697, and Parth Sunil Korde of Maharashtra with a total score of 687.

In the Junior Recurve category (Women), Ruma Biswa from West Bengal emerged as the leader with a total score of 634. Bhagora Bhargavi Vargishkumar of Gujarat secured the second position with a total score of 633, while Sonya Thakur of Madhya Pradesh was in the third place with a total score of 626.

In the Junior Compound category (Women), Kasal Rutuja Parmeshwar from Maharashtra took the lead with a total score of 667, followed by Nikita Dagar of Madhya Pradesh with a total score of 651, and Saloni Kirar of Madhya Pradesh with a total score of 642.

The finale of the Tournament is set to conclude on March 28.
