3 MCS officials including David Sangma promoted to IAS

TURA, June 3: In a significant move the central government has promoted three Meghalaya Civil Service Officers, including a woman, to the rank of Indian Administration Service (IAS) through an order released on Friday by the Ministry of Personnel, Government of India.

The three senior MCS officers now promoted to IAS are David D Sangma, Batlang Samuel Sohliya and Smt. Wanrilin A M Booth.

The order appointing them to IAS was made by the President of India and released in a notification by the Ministry of Personnel.

The three officers have been selected into the IAS batch of 2020 and will be part of the joint Assam-Meghalaya cadre of officers.

Smt. Wanrilin A M Booth is currently Director of Arts and Culture department.

Batlang Samuel Sohliya is presently Secretary of Meghalaya Urban Development Agency and CEO of Shillong Municipal Board.

David D Sangma is currently Director of Housing and joint secretary of Mining and Geology Department as well as Health and Family Welfare department.
