New Delhi, Nov 25: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has claimed that since the BJP came to power in 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, political stability and peace have been established in the Northeast.

“Political stability and peace have been established in the Northeast ever since the Modi government came to power in 2014,” said Shah while addressing a gathering of industrialists under the aegis of Indian Chamber of Commerce virtually on Thursday.

Shah added, “All the state government in the Northeast have completed their respective five-year terms. Elections in the region have also been conducted peacefully. All capital cities of Northeast states have air connectivity.”

Shah said that the BJP-led central government has focused on the Northeast region since it came to power.

“Today, the Northeast is ready to play the role of contributor in the development of the country,” he said adding that “we want to move forward with the mantra of three Es – ‘Empathy, Empowerment, Enabler’ – in the region.”

Shah further said: “The time has come to invest in the Northeast and further boost development there and empower the region.”
