Shillong, Dec 1: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Meghalaya on Monday seized 72.93 grams of heroin during two coordinated raids in Shillong, leading to the arrest of four persons.
Acting on source information, ANTF conducted a raid around 2:30 pm at Seven Sisters Hotel in Police Bazar, where officers recovered three soap boxes of heroin from two rooms.
Two boxes were seized from Sajul Ali (28) from Room 25. One box was seized from Rahim Uddin Lashar, who was staying in Room 11 along with Akbar Ali (31).

The total weight of the contraband recovered from the hotel stood at 42.56 grams. All three individuals were apprehended on the spot. Seizure procedures and other formalities are underway, after which the consignment will be handed over to OC Sadar P.S. for further action.
Based on inputs provided during interrogation, ANTF launched a second raid at Polo, where the accused revealed he had earlier sold two more soap boxes to a peddler named Amit Thapa. Thapa was detained, and officers recovered 30.36 grams of heroin from a cobbler shop where he had concealed the substance.
In total, five soap boxes containing 72.93 grams of heroin were recovered, and four accused have been arrested.
