Guwahati, May 7: The female candidates contesting for the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency in Assam cast their votes in their respective polling stations.

Mira Borthakur Goswami and Bijulee Kalita Medhi were among the first of voters to have exercised their franchise in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Guwahati Lok Sabha seat registered 10.38 voter turnout till 9 a.m.

The Guwahati Lok Sabha seat comprises 10 assembly segments including Dudhani, Boko, Chaygaon, Palasbari, Jalukbari, Dispur, Guwahati east, Guwahati west, Hajo and Barkhetry.

Total voters, 20.19 lakh, male voters 9,93,268, women voters 10,26,118. The total polling stations 15, women polling booths 102. Total polling booths 2181.
